Ahoy Me Hearties! Having fun at our #haveacraftparty Interplay Craft Party!

So, after being one of the lucky families chosen, we finally hosted our Craft Party with Interplay and UK Mums TV on Thursday and WHAT FUN it was!

We were sent 2 different kits to use for the party, and as it was mostly boys we chose the Pirate Party and the Treasure Box Party kits:

Interplay Pirate Party Box

Interplay Treasure Box Party I will admit now that I was a little worried about the Treasure Box Party kit. When I chose it, with the Pirate Party kit, I assumed it would be kind of another ‘piratey’ themed kit, with more along the lines of treasure chests and treasure inside! So when I looked at the kit for the first time and realised it was love heart boxes, pink and purple paints and stickers AND making bracelets, I was concerned that it would be ‘poo-pooed’ by my party guests! But me being me, I decided to press on and ‘bill’ the Treasure Boxes as presents for Mum…. so I was waiting with anticipation to see how it would go down!

Mister Maker Gives Us an Idea: Watch and Make Vol.5 – Review and Giveaway!

Mister Maker has been VERY popular in our house ever since he hit the screens in 2007. JT was 2, but Mister Maker managed to keep his attention and enthrall him in his ‘makes’… and the shapes entertained too!

Now, 6 years on, he still gets switched on and his makes are still popular – with me too as a reception class teacher! Mister Maker’s projects often spark my imagination and give me the inspiration for projects at school!

When we were asked if we would like to take a look at the NEW Mister Maker: Watch and Make Vol. 5 DVD, released by Abbey Media I knew it would go down well – even though the boys are now 6 and 7!

The DVD has 5 episodes on it with a run time of 95 minutes in total! This for me is great as you can watch it in short bursts, an episode at a time, or can watch the whole thing if time allows.

Baker Ross – the half term savers!

As Baker Ross bloggers, we are really thrilled when a box of goodies turns up unannounced for us to get our teeth into – and this week, being half term, there could have been no better time for that knock at the door from the postie holding another bundle of goodies!

This time it was an abundance of goodies which came together to make a fantastic craft session. This activity used the Foam Pencil Cases (£3.96 for a pack of 4) along with the self-adhesive Dinosaur Foam stickers, Butterfly Foam stickers, Galaxy Foam stickers (all £2.99 each per pack) and the self-adhesive Foam Letters Value Tub (priced at £6.99). We were lucky having lots of variety to choose from – but really 1 pack of foam stickers would be more than enough!

Baker Ross half term fun – the Bug Scratch Art Magnet Kit!

As Baker Ross bloggers, we are really thrilled when a box of goodies turns up unannounced for us to get our teeth into – and this week, being half term, there could have been no better time for that knock at the door from the postie holding another bundle of goodies!DSCF4283

There are some LOVELY things in this box to get creative with – but the thing that came out straight away was the Bug Scratch Art Magnet Kit – ideal for the potentially boring trip to Daddy’s office!

Decorating biscuits – a yummy treat for Valentine’s day!

We like to be creative in our house and we take every opportunity to have a bit of fun…so Valentine’s day gave us the perfect opportunity!

DSCF4231

This was actually an activity I had planned for my class of reception children at school –  and they REALLY enjoyed designing their own biscuits (even with the challenge of trying to make a symmetrical pattern!). But as I had some left, I thought the boys could have a go too!
